At Buzzbold, the Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud Administrator is a consulting and implementation specialist working to help nonprofit organizations with digital transformation in pursuit of their strategic, fundraising, marketing, operational, and programmatic goals. This role helps customers build business value and get the most out of their investment with Nonprofit Cloud and complementary solutions.

As a Salesforce Administrator, you will be responsible for managing Salesforce instances and developing Salesforce integrations for Buzzbold clients. This includes supporting the entire organization, developing and supporting the CRM tool, and assisting with organizational processes. This role also troubleshoots with end-users to ensure the application satisfies their needs and keeps pace with changes in program operations, policies, and procedures.

This role has an extensive working knowledge of Salesforce and is quick to learn new processes and functionality. As a Salesforce Administrator, you should be capable of troubleshooting issues quickly and efficiently, providing training regularly, and communicating with clients regarding issues or integration questions. Salesforce is constantly evolving as such the Salesforce Administrator would be an avid Salesforce fan and eager to embrace new enhancements to the product.

This position reports to the Director of Customer Success. The System Administrator will facilitate development or authoring of user stories and acceptance criteria, configure and analyze Nonprofit Cloud, Experience Cloud, and/or Education Cloud implementations, develop and execute training plans, work iteratively with the customer and fellow project members, monitor project timelines and deliverables, prepare project reports, and provide ongoing support and maintenance.


  • Participate in or lead strategic initiatives with Buzzbold in the interest of advancing our mission and the missions of nonprofit organizations, including cross-organizational efforts that may bring systemic approaches to increased impact and collaboration.
  • Present solution options to customers, evaluating the pros and cons of declarative configuration against code and customization through direct communications with the customer.
  • Publish and review reports of completed customer work, next steps, blockages, and customer learning opportunities in preparation for customer delivery each month.
  • Implement projects within and across clients’ businesses; deliver quantifiable improvements and financial benefits using agile-based work processes.
  • Design and participate in comprehensive end-user acceptance planning and testing.
  • Identify gaps and capabilities for emerging needs for customers and work with the Director of Customer Success to secure resources.
  • Build components of a Salesforce system to support business processes; evaluate and implement additional system integrations as requested.
  • Formally document client business needs and technical solutions through Statements of Work and Solutions Mapping.
  • Research and evaluate third-party solutions as required to complete project requirements from the Statement of Work and coordinate licensing, installation, and integration both technically and in aligning stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with project team members to assign work for configuring and building according to Statements of Work and User Stories.
  • Independently and collaboratively develop analytical tools to support customer reporting, monitoring, and decision-making needs.
  • Identify customer sharing and visibility needs, ensuring a secure environment for customer solutions through active monitoring of support cases.
  • Troubleshoot and fix reported bugs as reported by customers or through internal testing and maintenance.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and ensure the resolution of cases for assigned projects and customers.
  • Perform system administration, configuration, and support for Salesforce.
  • Be a student of Salesforce and stay up to date on new Salesforce features to provide recommendations for process improvements and future integrations by meeting quarterly professional development goals and reviewing Salesforce release notes.
  • Maintain and earn professional credentials, as well as complete educational/training assignments through Trailhead, conferences, or pursuing navigator specialties in Partner Learning Camp.
  • Direct, coach, and develop junior team members in their journey toward Nonprofit Cloud specialization by active participation in group or one on one training.
  • Track billable time with detailed, customer-facing annotations, ensuring reported work conveys value to be submitted at the end of the day on Fridays.
  • Participate in team culture and community stewardship activities, including connecting with nonprofit organizations for official volunteering events.
  • Represent Buzzbold in manners aligned with our core values of trust, inclusion, and growth.

Required Experience & Skills

  • 2+ years of Salesforce implementation experience
  • Nonprofit work or consultant experience
  • Salesforce Administrator Certification
  • Strong understanding of the platform, with the ability to build custom apps and objects, formula fields, flows, custom views, and other content of intermediate complexity
  • Strong understanding of best practices and functionality
  • Knowledge of Agile practices, requirements gathering, user story prioritization, and solid UAT guidelines
  • Proficiency in Google Docs, Sheets, Presentations and other online collaboration tools
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Moderate ability to demonstrate initiative and accountability
  • Strong presentation and training skills
  • Working-level knowledge of business-related software applications and services
  • Ability to communicate clearly
  • Ability to promote process improvement
  • Ability to design and implement new processes and facilitate user adoption
  • Basic knowledge of Apex and Visualforce development methods
  • Basic knowledge of Salesforce API

  • Experience with nonprofit processes preferred but not required
